Design on a Dime Tween Girl Bedroom Remodel

|

I decided a few weeks ago that it was time to Tween-ify (is that a word) my daughter’s room. She is about to be 13 and her room before this was, let’s just say…babyish. So, we decided that we would do a design on a dime tween girl bedroom remodel.

Here are some BEFORE pics of her room:

It was very yellow-toned and forest-y! haha Her room is also very tiny so we had to get creative with the space with had.

When we bought this house, as you can guess, this room was the nursery. Ryleigh was only 8 when we moved in so, of course, she loved the trees and wouldn’t let me paint. Now, much to my excitement, she was finally ready for a change.

The first thing I did was paint the “tree” wall a lovely shade of deep blue. It is called Anchors Away by Sherwin Williams.

Once I painted that wall, I realized just how yellow the three remaining walls were. So, I used my very favorite white paint color which is Cameo White by Behr Marquee.

I purchased the nightstands  from Wal-Mart for $32 each and then spray painted the handle gold to match the other accents in the room. I also bought the lamps from Wal-Mart for $14 and spray painted the base gold. The books I bought at Goodwill for $1 each and some from an antique mall. I am sure hoping she doesn’t read them because I have no clue what they are about. LOL I just know they matched the look I was going for. The clock is a gorgeous piece from my friends at Mod North I bought the plants from Home Goods and the gold orbs from Hobby Lobby.

I needed something for her dirty clothes and her books she is not reading so I bought these two wicker baskets from Home Goods for $19 and $29. I made the sign above the baskets. The drapes I bought from Kohl’s last year. They don’t have this style anymore but I am linking some similar options here: Almaden Drapes, Tribeca Diamond Drapes

My sweet friend Trish made Ryleigh this beautiful Smoosh Blanket It is the perfect blue for her room.

The teepee she got from another friend of mine at Tiny Land US and it is simply gorgeous. Ryleigh is always in there reading or doing her homework. The bell and peony hanger on top of the Teepee is from my sweet friend Katie at Jars of Clay co.

The rug is one I got from my friends at Kas Rugs. It added the perfect touch of blue and pulled in the white walls. The mirror I bought at Target for $47. I am still looking for the perfect decor to put on either side of the mirror but just haven’t found it yet. If you have any ideas, let me know.

We had a great time with this design on a dime tween girl bedroom remodel. All of the sources are linked below as well to make them easy to find. I hope you enjoyed this and got some inspiration. Be sure and check out my post about our son’s bedroom refresh.

Have a blessed one friends.
