A Weekend to Remember

| | |

As I sit here to tell you all about our weekend to remember, I am filled with such joy. Meeting these lovely ladies was a huge highlight in my journey of 2017. This trip has been planned since last year. So, a full year of planning and waiting made it even more special. Let me first say each of these women have had a huge impact on my life. All in their own special way, they have helped me grow my business and have played an integral role in my love for all things home decor related. We have shared laughter, tears, joys and sorrows with one another. I am so thankful I get to call these amazing women my friends.

Our trip began with Alicia (ourvintagenest), Lacie (loved_by_lace) and I all staying at this adorable home that is owned by, our now friend, Casey (thecottageonthecorner). She so graciously allowed us to stay here Friday night. Now, let me tell you, she rents her home out on the weekends so if you need somewhere to stay in Waco her home is perfection. Here are a few of the pics I took while we were there:

I fell madly in love with this bed:

Casey is a true gem and we were so glad we were able to get to know her a little better. You will definitely want to make sure you follow along on her journey because her home is gorgeous!

Saturday morning, we woke up and decided to go have breakfast at one of my local favs: Cafe Cappuccino. If you have never been here for breakfast, I highly recommend it! The pancakes are amazing!

After breakfast, we made our way over to Spice Village to find some treasures to take back home. Spice has over 60 shops in a 30, 000 sq ft building. I bought some of their signature candles and a few Christmas gifts for family members.

We left Spice and made our way over to Magnolia . I was very fortunate to have my sister give me a little heads up on Friday night. She told me Magnolia was having a 30% off sale on gift cards on their website. So, Friday night I purchased myself a gift card to shop with on Saturday. How awesome is that?! I walked in the door already saving 30%!! I got out of there buying some great things for my home. I bought some adorable wooden vases:

some dish racks for the kitchen (these are Casey’s) I haven’t hung mine up yet:

a table runner:

and a few other goodies. At Magnolia, we met up with Karan (designsbykaran), Caitlin (thehiddenspire), Erin (mytexashouse), Erin (nifty.nest), Tiffany (joyfully.rooted) and Heather (klotzhome). It was so fun to shop around with my IG besties in real life. Almost surreal to be honest.

After we left Magnolia, we went to the house where we would be spending the next couple of nights. We stayed at The German Schmearhouse. This home was on The Fixer Upper, season 5, episode 1. It was truly adorable. We decided to watch the episode again, together, so we could see what all had changed since the time it aired.

Once we finished watching Fixer Upper, we went to have dinner at the most amazing restaurant in Waco. It’s called Moroso Pizzeria . WOW! I had the Quattro Formaggi pizza and it was to die for!

It seems there is a bite missing.OOPSY!!

The owners, Dan and Robyn Moroso, took such amazing care of us the whole time. Their menu is full of family recipes passed down generations and the variety of food was so unique. You will want to visit them if you make your way to Waco. You won’t regret it! Robyn took extra special care in preparing our table special for our group. She knew we loved decor so she decked out or table with such amazing style. Thanks Robyn! And thank you Dan for visiting with us. It was so nice to meet you!

Once we left Moroso, we headed back to the house because we were exhausted. Some ladies had been up since 1 or 2 am getting on flights to get to Waco. We got in our jammies and ended up staying awake until around 2 or 3am just chatting and having amazing girl time. It was much needed for our mommy souls to recharge and bond with other like-minded friends.

Sunday came, and we were so excited to embark on a day full of fun and spoiling by our dear friends at The Findery . Tiffany (left) and her sister-in-law, Marci were the most gracious hosts. They planned a private brunch for us at the shop. Tiffany has a true eye for design so, I just new we would be instant besties! Aren’t they both adorable?

Alison is the manager of The Findery and she was also a huge help. She and I got to be on the local news Friday morning telling about our fun weekend we had planned. She gave sneak peeks of our Swag Bags The Findery put together for each of us.

Without further ado, I am about to blow your mind with the tablescape they set up for the brunch.

Can y’all believe the attention to detail Tiffany and Marci had in their tablescape? The vintage ledgers were the actual ones from the building they bought and turned into The Findery. They used old crates as centerpieces and had vintage hymnals in each one. There was no stone unturned in their desire to be wonderful hosts to all of us ladies. And they were a complete pleasure to get to know.

After brunch, they allowed us to shop at our leisure and take in all they had to offer. Friends, this shop is my very favorite place in Waco. They have antiques, tableware, furniture, home decor and so much more. It is right across from Magnolia so do not miss it. You will probably end up going home with more things from here than Magnolia, especially if you like vintage decor.

Once our bellies were full and we had spent all of our money, we jumped on this adorable bus for a tour of Waco from Waco Tours . If you get a chance to visit Waco and you have some time, this is totally worth it. I am from Waco and I still learned so much history about my sweet town. We had the most AMAZE-balls tour guides!! Melinda and Lexy were simply the most adorable people I’ve ever met!  They made the tour such a blast! We sang and laughed the entire time!

On the tour, we visited Common Grounds . It is an adorable coffee shop on Baylor campus. I don’t know what they put in their coffee, but they put Starbucks to shame!! YUM!

Sunday, after all of our adventures, we decided to head back to The German Schmearhouse and relax. We ordered BBQ and just chilled. We spent hours again chatting it up and just enjoying our last night together. We were able to pack our weekend full but we were also able to just enjoy special time with one another.

As a final farewell to Waco on Monday morning Lacie, Alicia and I had to stop by Silo Baking Co. to get a little breakfast. If you have not tried their cranberry orange biscuit, you are missing out on living! YUMMO!!

I know I will never forget the time I had in Waco. The special bonds with my IG besties and the new friendships formed through The Findery, Moroso, Waco Tours and Four Columns Marketing. And, speaking of Four Columns Marketing, I cannot finish this post without thanking the most important people responsible for our amazing time in Waco. April and Morgan made this whole trip possible. They planned every detail and made sure there were no glitches. If you are ever in need of a great marketing team, Four Columns Marketing is the place to go. They know what they are doing and they do it so well!! Thanks girls!!
