Creating a Dual-purposed Space

| | |

I cannot wait to share my plans and inspiration for our upstairs game room! We will be transforming it into a dual-purpose room for our two sons. A bedroom by night and a lounge/work area by day.

Here is a mood board I put together to get a feel for the space.

So, here is my plan….

As you all know, we bought a new home recently. Well, the new home is a 3 bedroom and we have 4 children. Now, two of them are in college so that was our justification because we knew they would not be here very often. However, when they are all home together, the boys need a space of their own. In order to do that, I am trying to recreate a new space for them in our game room and make it dual-purpose.

To do that, I am going to be installing two murphy beds along the large wall. I will be removing the huge sectional in there and exchanging it out for a normal sized sofa. I will put a desk and chair in there so they have somewhere to do their homework. I felt I only needed one desk area because one of them will be off at college in the fall. Hotty Toddy! I will leave the existing leather chair up there as well. We will remove the day bed and old desk that are up there now. I am also hoping to add some character with either wall paint or wallpaper of some sort.

I cannot wait to show you all the reveal! It will be EPIC!!!

Here are a few before pics…..

Doesn’t this space just scream HELP!!?? I cannot wait to show you all the final reveal, as well as the in-between phases. Stay tuned friends! Have a blessed day!
